Countless artists throughout history have found their inspiration in looking at and interpreting the world around them. Artists have also played an important role in documenting and responding to the changing dynamics between humans and their environment. In this hands-on class, we will study traditional elements of landscape art while also exploring the ways in which landscape art has evolved over time.
The Art Center’s Horizon: Contemporary Landscape exhibit forms an ideal lens through which to explore current themes in landscape art and we will study several pieces from the exhibit. During this six-week class, students will create original work that reflects their understanding of their world.
This class is open to students in grades K-4. Note that class will not meet on October 9.
